Weekly watch on Shopify returns and refunds that flags products with rising return rates, diagnoses the likely cause, and recommends fixes.
Each week, analyze recent Shopify orders, refunds, and returns to surface products with a rising or above-average return/refund rate. For each flagged product, quantify the return rate and its trend versus the prior period, estimate the refunded revenue impact, and diagnose the most likely cause (sizing/fit, quality defect, item-not-as-described, shipping damage, wrong item, buyer's remorse) using order notes, refund reasons, and product/variant patterns. Recommend concrete actions: update product copy or sizing guidance, add photos, flag a supplier/quality issue, adjust returns policy, or pause promotion of a problem SKU. Output a compact ranked list (worst offenders first) with metrics, likely cause, and the recommended fix.
