Yes. Hubi operates through your API token, so it only sees and edits what that user has access to. Private collections that user can't open stay invisible to Hubi.

Will Hubi change or delete documents without asking?

For edits, moves, archiving, or deletes, Hubi proposes the change and shows what it will touch before acting. Read and search actions run on their own since they don't alter anything.

Does this work with both Outline Cloud and a self-hosted instance?

Outline offers a hosted version and an open-source self-hosted option, both with the same API. Hubi connects wherever your API token and instance URL point, as long as the API is reachable.
