Can Hubi query my database directly, or only saved questions?

Hubi works through Metabase, so it primarily runs the questions and cards already defined there. That keeps results consistent with your existing models rather than running raw queries against your warehouse.

Does this work with self-hosted Metabase and Metabase Cloud?

Hubi talks to Metabase through its API, so it works with either as long as the instance is reachable and you provide valid credentials. Self-hosted setups need the URL and key configured for the connection.

Will Hubi change my dashboards or cards?

Day to day Hubi reads results to answer your questions. If you ask it to create or edit a card, it confirms changes that affect shared dashboards before applying them, where your permissions allow the change.

How fresh are the numbers Hubi returns?

Hubi runs the question against Metabase at request time, so results reflect your current data subject to any caching Metabase applies to that card. Heavily cached cards may return the last computed value.
