How does Hubi authenticate with my cluster?

Hubi connects with an Elasticsearch API key, which you scope in your cluster's security settings. That key controls which indices and actions Hubi can reach, and you can revoke it at any time.

Can Hubi write to or delete from my indices?

What Hubi can do depends on the privileges on the API key you provide. With a read-only key it only searches and counts; for any write or delete action it proposes the change for approval before running.

Does this work with both Elastic Cloud and self-hosted clusters?

Hubi talks to Elasticsearch's REST API, so it can reach a managed Elastic Cloud deployment or a self-hosted cluster as long as the endpoint is reachable and the API key is valid for it.

What happens if a query is too broad or times out?

Very large or unfiltered queries can hit cluster limits or time out. Hubi returns what the cluster sends back and reports the error, so you can narrow the filter or add a result limit and try again.
